We are now recruiting for a temporary (up to 24 months) Actuary in our Actuarial Services team. The role will be working from home 70% and from our head office in Burnaby, BC 30%.  Apply this week if you would like to take on this role. 

Key Ways This Position Makes An Impact

The Actuary will calculate monthly liabilities and incurred but not reported reserves for benefits.

This role will prepare date to perform actuarial analysis, statistical analysis and pricing.

In this role, you will help complete actuarial experience studies and reports required by regulators.

This role evaluated client experiences and proposes and models plan design changes and calculates premium rates based on innovative solutions.

You will support special quote requests, support product development, and help resolve inquiries from consultants, auditors and regulators.

This role will manager the database and actuarial applications development and code queries in Microsoft Analysis Services.

The Actuary will assist in design, development, testing, maintenance, documentation, and troubleshooting of programmed tools.

Key Experiences You Bring To This Role

  • Minimum five years experience working in group benefits   
  • Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries or the Society of Actuaries
  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Services or Master of Science program with Actuarial major or related fields with proven knowledge of actuarial concepts  
  • Experience with IFRS17, MS Office, and database programming is required
