About the Role

As a consulting actuary with NFP, you will work as part of a team, applying your actuarial, consulting and project management expertise in the areas of Canadian Defined Benefit retirement plan valuation and design, compliance and financial reporting. You will focus on ensuring our clients receive exceptional retirement consulting services.

 

What You’ll Do

  • As a key member of client teams, ensure delivery of high-quality work that meets legislative requirements and client needs
  • Deliver consulting advice and services to clients
  • Support, supervise and validate the process of actuarial valuations for both funding and accounting purposes
  • Collaborate in the design and administration of pension plans
  • Assist with special projects and tasks, as required
  • Build and maintain excellent relations with clients and team members
  • Work with current and prospective clients to grow business
  • Participate in ongoing professional development

 

What You Bring

  • FSA/FCIA Designation
  • At least 3 years of pension plan consulting experience
  • Strong mathematical skills, and detailed knowledge of the actuarial valuation process
  • Very good knowledge of pension plan legislation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Exceptional client focus
  • Superior proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong independence but also a dedicated team player
  • Willingness to share ideas and voice opinions
